UNITED FOR LIFE awarded its annual Human Life Award to Walter B. Hoye II, both Founder and President of the Issues4Life Foundation, the California Civil Rights Foundation, Founder of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California. Walter gave an exciting presentation of some of his new media tools that is reaching the African American community in new ways.

Dr George Maloof and educator Richard Sweeney were given posthumous Life Awards.
Walter Hoye is also an Executive Member of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, a Board Member of The Morning Center, which was founded to provide free full-service maternity care for women in urban and under-served areas, a published author of the book Leadership from the INSIDE Out and serves as a leadership consultant. God used the premature birth (six months, 2.1 pounds) of his son to teach him that the fetus is a person, a living, breathing human being.
In 1982, Walter was licensed to preach the gospel by the Calvary Baptist Church in San Diego, California, which at the time was under the leadership of Pastor Dr. S.M. Lockridge. Encouraged my his “Father in the Gospel”, Dr. S.M. Lockridge, Walter graduated from the United States International University. After many years in ministry, in May of 2010, Walter decided to work full-time in the Pro-Life movement.We have been blessed.

Also, UFL introduced Thomas Rudkins, who spoke of his work with Options United. UFL is funding the launch of “Options United for Life Northern California Pregnancy Resource Collaborative Network”. Thomas is going to reach out to pregnant women through large media buys, network pro-life pregnancy centers, and bring the women and centers together.
